Weingut Max Ferd. Richter Riesling Spatlese

Weingut Max Ferd. Richter is a name for Rieslings, Erdener Treppchen is a quality vineyard in central Mosel region, and the winemaking tradition is from 1680 - all this creates a massive wow factor. When you pour this wine it shows some fizz even for the wine from 2009 vintage. It normally gets 90 out of 100 score which is a brilliant sign of the appreciation. This well balanced wine would be pleasant in terms of medium body (quite thick texture actually), medium acidity that is easy-going but still quite mouth watering. Crisp and elegant finish would be very enjoyable.

This wine has a big character though we can think of many matches. First and obvious one ids to match it with quite flavoursome sweeter asian dishes - think sweeter curries, stir-fries, dumplings with sweet chilli sauce. Then we thought - why not some duck and mango salad, or even moroccan couscous with pomegranate? Fancy just a nibble but a glass of this fabulous Riesling? Creamy cheddar or similar strong and hard (maybe even mature) cheeses would be great. We regret to buy only one bottle!
