Gran Conti Rosso del Molise Riserva

Great red from central Italy, made from Montepulciano and Aglianico- it got the best qualities from those two: cherry flavours, damson richness and refreshing acidity, which also makes it possible for the wine to be aged gracefully. Having tasted 2008 vintage we are sure that this blend is fantastic- you would be so pleased with this fruity cherry flavours, which are not too heavy due to zingy Aglianico presence- it is quite an easygoing wine.

The producers recommend this wine with hearty autumn stews and we can't really disagree with them, but hey we can think of better wines (think more hearty and full bodied ones to be a better match), so we would actually suggest lighter starters - get yourself good parma ham, make traditional Italian antipasti (cut basil, tomato, olives and a bit of shallot mixed with virgin olive oil to serve with bread) and this match would be heavenly!
